ReproducibiliTea Journal Club

We are excited to announce the revival of the ReproducibiliTea Journal Club, focused on open science, academic publishing, the reproducibility crisis, and responsible research practices. ReproducibiliTea is a grassroots movement aimed at improving the transparency and reproducibility of scientific research. This initiative aims to foster discussions and promote awareness around these critical topics within our academic community in a casual and collegial environment.  Our journal/discussion club will serve as a platform to explore literature, share insights, and discuss best practices in research methodology.

Potential discussion topics include:

  • Experimental design in animal research
  • Mistakes in research
  • Plagiarism and other research misconduct
  • Assessing rigor and openness
  • Data management
  • Open science and data sharing
  • Academic publishing
  • Reproducibility in the age of generative AI
  • Any other relevant topics attendees are interested in

We will be hosting our first session on Tuesday, October 27th at 4pm in Markus Library Room 202. The first topic of discussion will be this summer’s news about a large-scale antibody mixup.

Read about the story below (it is not necessary to read all of these articles to join us for discussion):

Please join us if you are interested in improving your own research practices, engaging with other like-minded community members, and becoming more informed about open science and research rigor.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP here! If you have any questions, please contact Claire Warner (cwarner@rockefeller.edu) or Margaret Schroeder (mschroeder@rockefeller.edu). We look forward to seeing you there!
